In this role, Dennis supports the development and implementation of next-generation digital education tools designed to bridge school learning and home learning as education continues to evolve. He leads efforts to build and sustain partnerships with schools and districts, transforming early literacy approaches for children from birth through entry into elementary school. His work spans multiple states, including Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado.

Prior to joining Footsteps2Brilliance, Dennis spent a year at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) as National Managing Director for Leadership Programs and Member Services. His work expanded mentorship opportunities for educators at all career stages and included the creation of a national leadership program focused on cultivating leadership skills among mid-career educators.

Before working with ASCD, Dennis Muizers worked in four different school districts in Texas. One of his first positions out of college was working as a high school English teacher in El Paso. Eventually, he moved into a new position as a Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Specialist in the same school district. This position awakened his interest in educational administration and helping school districts serve their students more effectively and achieve better educational outcomes.

Dennis Muizers moved through several more administrative positions before landing in Lovejoy Independent School District in Allen, TX, where he worked as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. He spent over 15 years in this position, and under his leadership, Lovejoy ISD thrived. Dennis was essential in creating and developing a new secondary program and led Lovejoy ISD to earn several distinctions and high rankings, both within the state and nationally. It has been recognized as the top school district in Texas and the fifth-best school district nationwide.

He is dedicated to helping students thrive in the classroom and knows the best way to achieve that result is by investing in their educators’ development. Having spent years seeing how different strategies play out in classrooms and educational institutions as a whole, Dennis is passionate about utilizing EdTech strategies and improving teacher retention. Even though he has retired from working directly with schools, Dennis always keeps up-to-date on the latest trends in technology and professional development that impact educational leaders. He still considers himself a student of leadership, constantly looking for ways to improve his professional relationships and the way he approaches team management.
